Choose your favorite artist or art period. Write a self-reflection paper supporting why the artist
or art period is your favorite. Use the outline provide to establish the key components of the
reflection. Then, elaborate on each point to fulfill a full-length paper at least three paragraphs,
single-spaced with 1 margins, using 12point font. Use MLA formatting and remember to have a
Works Cited page listing all resources. When finished, create a button on your home page and
link your presentation to the button. Label the button with the full name of the artist or art
period.
Extra Credit Option: Compare and contrast two of your favorite artists or art periods.

Art Period Renaissance Period


a. When did the period begin (timeline)?
i. 1300 A.D. - 1700 A.D.
b. What interested people in this art period?
i. Ancient Greece and Rome inspired the artwork of this period. The Catholic
Church was also a big influence in the artwork. Most were religious
depictions. Also domestic images. Bought the artwork to show social status.
Classical learning and values of ancient Greece and Rome. Individualistic view
of man and nature.
c. Why was the art period important?
i. Was rebirth after the medieval period. Started taking pleasure in nature
around them. Marked huge advances in art and architecture.
d. Group of artist that may have promoted the period?
i. Michelangelo, Giotto di Bondone, Raphael, Donatello.

i. My artwork is similar to the renaissance period because it both takes pleasure
in the nature. Different because I focus on flowers and not people.

i. It makes my see my artwork as somewhat more childish and simple because
the renaissance had very complicated work

i. The fact that I like the renaissance make people see me as a more religious
person because I enjoy the religious depictions

i. It shows my love for my catholic faith and my love for nature
