Ms. Hamilton,
This memo concerns the results of the GLMA & GLA Library Media
Program Self-Evaluation Rubric that I recently completed to evaluate our
Media Center program here at Georgetown. This rubric evaluates the
following categories: Student Achievement and Instruction (6 indicators);
Technology (2 indicators); Staffing (1 indicator); Facilities, Access, and
Resources (6 indicators); and Administrative Support (6 indicators). The
results of my evaluation show the following:
Student Achievement and Instruction 3 Basic, 3 Proficient
Technology 2 Proficient
Staffing 9a, 9b 2 Exemplary
Facilities, Access, and Resources 1 Basic, 2 Proficient, 3
Exemplary
Administrative Support 5 Proficient, 1 Exemplary
Overall, I believe that our Media Center program is Proficient, and we
are heading in the right direction. In order to move our Basic ratings to
Proficient, I have included the following Action Plan. Finally, I included in the
plan one Proficient rating that I believe we can move to Exemplary in a very
short time with very little effort or external resources.
Thank you,
Rhonda Elton
