3. Nature of Event : ID Fan scoop failed.

4. Observations : ID Fan 2A scoop was 90% & current was 102 Amps. Suddenly current found 52
Amps Scoop position showing beyond scale Scoop found Failed. Furnace draft found +
35 mmwc

5. Analysis Fluid coupling oil temp found increased due to churning. After dismantling it is observed
that suction pipe of scoop tube found detached from welding.
6. Works carried out by maintenance section ID Fan scoop replaced with new one. One spare
coupling is always kept ready for replacement.
7. Works carried out for the restoration by operation :

8. Recommendations to avoid reoccurrence :

a) Short term To keep spare fluid coupling ready for replacement.

b) Long term During overhauls fluid couplings having oil leakage is replaced.
