Godoy Field Study 1, 2 & 3 Alupay National High School
Alupay National High School is the cooperating school that I have
chosen since I am already familiar to this school. Some of my neighbors before studied there and are sharing some backround information about the school, respectively. The school was not along the highway. Every morning, students, teachers and FS students like me should walk for a distance to reach the school. I though, it was the advantage for the student that may shorten the risk of accidents. We are expected to reach the school at 6:30 in the morning but as much as possible, we are trying to be there earlier than the expected time. Every morning, students are given a time to clean and fixed their rooms and thier respective areas. We are guiding through giving instructions and initiating as well. Sir Elmer Ebora Mendoza or simply Sir Elmer is my cooperating teacher. He guides us, me and Maam Nica, to the things that we must do while observing. He always complies with all my questions. Last July 16, Thursday, is the day of our deployment, he introduced us to his afternoon class, the grade 7-B. We then stated our observation at the first time. Sir Elmer gives the whole time to the students for them to accomplished their weekly output. At the same time, he checks their output. At the same time, he checks the students output and continiously giving quetions that may refresh the topic to the students. Sir Elmer uses the strategy of questiong and answer type where the students succesfully comply hte answers ether by themselves, by hteir classmates or by the help of Sir Elmer as well. At second day of our observation, July 20, Monday, I reached the school at exactly 6:12 in the morning. I, with Maam Nica, started to instruct Sir Elmers advisory class in cleanoing their classroom and their respective areas. Sir Elmers advisory class and office is located at the Vilma Santos Recto Building. At the left part of the building is the schools library while on the right part is their gym. At 7:00, the flag ceremony started. We assist Sir Elmers advisory and we are glad to see their cooperation that made the task easy for us. Late 7:30, the class Started, Sir didnt used any instructional medias but his class goes interactively with his dicussion. His students cooperates wiith him and shows full understanding. There are different types of students in every class but Sir
knows how to control them so that it doesnt make destruction to the
class. During our vacant time, Sir instruct us to make a power point presentation of the topic containing the 4As. At first, its hard for us to determine which part of the text can comply with the given As, but at last, the manual and the handbook that Sir gives to us make a big help. As the afternoon class started, Sir uses the Power Point Presentaion that we have made. The class goes over. I have observe that sudents respecty for a teacher really stand as a good point for a teacher to successfully hold the class into his/ her hand. At the third day of our observation, July 22, Wednesday, I reached the school at 6:00 in hte morning. I went to Sir Elmers advisory class and started to duide the student on cleaning their respective areas. Sir doesnt have his class at first period, We stayed at his office. On that time I have learned that Sir wasnt using any instructional media at all times because K- 12 students already has their handbooks during the class and all of the lessons and topics to be discuss are already given there. Before the morning class end, I experienced assissting group activities at Sir Elmers last class in the morning. It is because their principal calls Sir Elmer for a certain reason. There are students who keeps on talking and chatting but most of them are busy on doing their activities. Field Study 1, 2 & 3 is somewhat exciting but giving me pressure. On my first three days of observation, I have experience certain things that make me realize how hard the profession is but yet how exciting it is.
after school clubs and extracurricular activities is beneficial in a variety of ways for the K-12 population. For example, school clubs can offer a place to form relationships and foster learning, and this was demonstrated with multiple groups. Research including students with disabilities involved in extracurricular activities show that they were more likely to have friends than those who were not involved.[4] Similar findings with racial and ethnic minorities and immigrant adolescents showed that minority, first, and second generation adolescents were less likely than their counterparts to have friends and be engaged in relationships, however, extracurricular activities facilitated socialization.[5] Thus, being involved in activities outside of school increases student’s chances of creating friendships. Furthermore, extracurricular activities increase positive self-development, regardless of where the activities take place (at school or away from school) [6] Likewise, female adolesc
