Power Input
l
The EMU supports input voltage detection. The alarm threshold for the input voltage can
be configured on the BTS/NodeB and delivered to the EMU.
The EMU provides two power input ports, which are protected from inverse connections.
Environment Monitoring
l
The EMU provides four ports for monitoring analog signals. Voltage-type (0 V - 5 V)
sensors and current-type (4 mA - 20 mA) sensors can be used. The types of monitored
analog signals can be configured through the DIP switch settings according to the BTS/
NodeB configuration.
Communication Ports
The EMU provides two RS-485 ports, which is used for the communication between the EMU
and the BTS/NodeB.

The signals shown in this table are defined in terms of transmission and reception by the EMU.
When the TXD+ pin is connected to the RXD+ pin and the TXD- pin is connected to the RXD- pin,
the RS485 serial port can be used for two-wire connection.
The EMU works properly even if only one RS485 serial port is connected. It is recommended that you
use two RS-485 serial ports in active/standby mode. In this case, set serial port 1 to the active port.

The cable provided along with the HO-03A door status sensor is 10 m [32.81 ft] long.
The HO-03A door status sensor consists of a dry finger pipe and a magnetic ferrite. The dry

magnetic ferrite is close to the dry finger pipe, the fingers are magnetized and attracted to each
other. When the magnetic field no longer covers the fingers, the fingers spring apart.

The requirements for the installation of the smoke sensor are as follows:
l
If the smoke sensor is to be installed in the center of the ceiling, ensure that:
There is no obstacle within a 0.5 m [1.64 ft] radius of the smoke sensor.
The horizontal distance between the smoke sensor and the blast vent of the airconditioner is greater than 1.5 m [4.92 ft].
The horizontal distance between the smoke sensor and the air vent in the ceiling is
greater than 0.5 m [1.64 ft].
The horizontal distance between the smoke sensor and the air vent of the air-conditioner
is greater than 1.5 m [4.92 ft].
The smoke sensor is suitable for detecting fires that have smolder during the initial stage
and emit large amounts of smoke. Do not install the smoke sensor at locations where:
Before powering on the smoke sensor, ensure that the smoke sensor is correctly connected.
Thirty seconds after the smoke sensor is powered on, the red indicator will start to blink
once every 9 to 15 seconds.
Dust easily accumulates on the smoke sensor. Therefore, clear the dust periodically to avoid
false alarms.
To protect the smoke sensor from dirt, do not remove the dust cover before using the sensor.
CAUTION
l
The smoke sensor cannot work without the power supply. Therefore, the smoke sensor does
not work if the power supply is interrupted.
To avoid damage to the smoke sensor, do not directly use +24 V DC input voltage for the
smoke sensor.
NOTE
The smoke sensor can be connected only to the terminals marked "Smoke&24VS".
The smoke sensor generates alarms when there is smoke or fire. You have to run an associated command
to clear the alarms.
Procedure
Step 1 Install the smoke sensor in the selected position.

The requirements for the installation of the infrared sensor are as follows:
l
The infrared sensor should not be exposed to sunlight or other strong light.
The infrared sensor should not directly face heat sources such as air-conditioners or
caliducts.
The infrared sensor should directly face positions prone to unauthorized entry.
The infrared sensor should not be installed on the wall beside the door.
The monitoring range should be clear of obstacles so that the infrared sensor can be directly
seen in the monitoring range.
The infrared sensor can be connected only to the terminals marked "OPTI&12VI&GND".

Context
The requirements for the installation of the humidity/temperature sensor are as follows:
l
Generally, the humidity/temperature sensor should be installed on a wall and about 1.5 m
[4.92 ft] above the ground.
Around the humidity/temperature sensor, ventilation should be good, and the airflow rate
is 0.1 m/s to 1 m/s.
NOTE
The humidity/temperature sensor cannot be installed in a position with too rapid airflow, for
example, the air vent in the ceiling or the blast vent of an air-conditioner.
The wind of an air cooling machine or air heating machine can directly blows the
humidity/temperature sensor.
The air is polluted by substances such as sour gas and oily gas.
The humidity/temperature sensor should be kept away from the ends of the cabling trough.
The humidity/temperature sensor should be powered off before the sensor is installed or
replaced.
Holes should not be drilled around the humidity/temperature sensor after the sensor is
installed. If you have to do so, take appropriate measures to protect the sensor from dust.
CAUTION
5-10
You need to calibrate the humidity/temperature sensor annually. Replace it if its precision is
too low.
