What a delight it is to watch children
discover the pungent scent of
rosemary, examine jaw bones, study
bugs and spiders with keen interest,
and want to learn more.
The gift the Katherine C. Carmody
Trust has given is bringing science
to life - planting seeds of interest,
developing critical thinking, and
inspiring the next generation of
scientists and explorers.
From January through May, 2015,
7,316 children took part in our labs; a
9% increase over the first half of the
school year. Ms. Carmodys legacy is
enriching the lives of thousands of
inner-city children, immersing them
in the essential concepts of the natural
sciences, often entirely foreign to their
urban experience.
Interactive, hands-on, and ageappropriate activities put the fun
back into the science fundamentals
so valuable to academic excellence.
