The Midnight Song

I was playing computer games when it all happened. It was about half past
eleven in the evening. I was alone at home, because my parents and my brother had
gone to the cinema. I was playing war games and I was so excited that, when I
looked at my watch, it was almost midnight. I had to go to bed. I turned off the
computer, and I went to the bathroom.
When I was brushing my teeth, all the lights went out. I tried to open the
door, but it was locked and I didn’t have the key! Suddenly a dog bit me on my left
leg. I tried to kick the dog, but I couldn’t find it! I was bleeding so much that I thought
I was going to die. Afterwards I heard a ghost singing and making noises in the
kitchen. He was singing “You can run, but you can’t hide… you can hear me, but you
can’t see me…”
When my parents and my brother arrived home, they called me but I did not
answer. I was frightened to death. I could not move… They looked round the house
and… nothing.
I don’t know how I could find the strength to kick the bathroom door with my
right leg.
They opened the door and took me to hospital, where I am now, writing this
strange incident. I wish I knew what really happened… I can’t find a reasonable
explanation for all this.
