Free-Write: How can using a DSE perspective influence your experiences in your current

placement?
What pedagogical moves, and instructional decisions are you making in your placements
to support (enact, point towards ??) a DSE perspective or inclusive stance? (what are you
doing now?)
What is prohibiting you from taking this stance? (what are the barriers?)
What types of instructional moves or pedagogical decisions support a more inclusive or
DSE perspective? (What would you like to do?)

A couple of tenets of a DSE perspective:


Understanding impairments as part of a continuum of human variations (rather than as
medicalized pathologies)
Focus on student-centered learning with opportunities for students to exercise agency (rather
than a teacher directed focus on remediating or "fixing" problems)
