WHY BOYS FAIL IN COLLEGE

First paragraph:
Two main classes of failure of boys:
i) Those who try ii) Those who do not try
Some have native ability to do well.
But show lack of concentration in work e.g. sharpening of pencil.
Boy himself has to overcome this difficulty.
Second paragraph:
Common cause of failure is mistaken ambition.
Direction is mapped out by parents.
Boy does not show interest and ability.
Boy should select his own direction.
Third paragraph:
Type of boys who do not try (bright boy).
They think that they will pass the college as they had passed school
without effort.
Depends on ones ability.
Keenness and college opportunity is wasted.
Cure is entire change of attitude.
Fourth paragraph:
Poor health (physical and mental) also a cause of failure.
There should be health service in college and cooperation between
teaching staff and doctors.
Physical examination, diagnosis of disease and cure.
Parent duty and support.
Fifth paragraph:
Financial pressure for ambitious boys.
Not supported by parents so self-earning for studies.

Sixth paragraph:
Working for long hours effect students health.
Heartrending spectacle?
Important reason for apparent failure.
Parents should support, college should help by scholarship.
Seventh paragraph:
Athletic sports and literary activities.
College should provide opportunity to interested boys.
Too much interested boy should become professional.
Studies and these activities cannot go side by side.
Student should avail college opportunity.

Eighth paragraph:
Lazy bluffers arrive into college just for fun.
Let them retire to the cold world?
Sometimes they learn their lesson and return.
Ninth paragraph:
Dean should have diagnostic abilities.
Dean can save boys that are failing because of their foolishness,
sickness and sin.
