CHART IN SPREAD SHEET

AIM:
To prepare the Line, XY, Bar and Pie Charts in MS-Excel.
Create examination databases and find the total and average of each student.
RULES:

1. PASS if marks in each subject>=35.


2. FAIL if marks in any subject < 35.
3. Distinction if average>= 75.
4. First class if average >=60 but less than 75.
5. Second class if average >= 50 but less than 60.
6. Third class if average>= 35 but less than 50.

PROCEDURE:
1. Enter the given data in worksheet.
2. Choose the chart option from the insert menu, or choose the chart wizard
button rom the standard toolbar.
3. Shows the chart wizard step 1 of4 chart type dialog box.
4. Choose the appropriate chart type from the chart type list box then click next.
5. Shows the chart wizard step 2 of4 chart source data dialog box, then click next.
6. Shows the chart wizard step 3 of4 chart options dialog box, here you can
give the Chart title.(i) X and Y axis title etc., then click next.
7. Shows the chart wizard step 4 of4 chart location dialog box then click finish.

AIM:
To calculate HRA, DA, TA, PF, GPF, LIC, Gross salary deductions, Net Salary for the
given data in a work sheet.
STEPS TO BE FOLLOWED:
STEP 1: For HRA put the cell pointer in D2 and press =(equal to) for entering the formula. Then
choose the C2 cell (basic salary) and type *(multiplication operator) and type 18% then
pressenter. Now the 18% HRAform BASIC is calculated.
STEP 2: Then drag that formula for entire records.
STEP 3: For TA put the cell pointer in E2 and press = (equal to) for entering the formula the
choose
the C2 cell(Basic salary) and type * (multiplication operator) and 15% then press enter.
STEP 4: Now the 15% TA from Basic is calculated. Then drag that formula for entire records.
STEP 5: Follow the above steps for calculation of DA, PF, GPF, LIC.
STEP 6: For GS (Gross Salary): put the cell pointer in the J2 and choose the =, then click on C2
cell
+ click on D2 + click on E2 + click on F2 and press enter. Now the Gross salary is
calculated.
STEP 7: Drag all the cell.
STEP 8: Follow the above step for DD and NS calculations.
STEP 9: After all calculations, select all the data in work sheet , then choose Data --> Sort, from
the sort dialog box, choose Name for the sort order.
