Lesson Time and Date: Class Science How They Grow? Lesson 2

Lesson Aims
At this end of this lesson, students will further develop their understanding of lifecycle and How they
Grow.
Childrens Prior Learning (what do the children already know/what have they covered?)
Prior lesson on developing their understanding of lifecycle.
Students have a solid knowledge on how a butterfly and frogs lifecycle develops.
Teaching and Learning Preparation (resources etc)
Youtube show the lifecycle progression of a xxx animal.
Students are to model the lifecycle of a xxx on a worksheet- they are then asked to write a few sentences
about each stage of the lifecycle of this animal/plant/insect.

How they Grow is a topic which we will follow with specific animal/s
this week. The activities last week served to students understanding of
young, old and the in-between of animal/plant/insect. lifecycles.

Students will be presented with a you-tube video/s containing footage of an


animal/plant/insect lifecycle,
Students are asked to return to their tables and draw the complete lifecycle
of their chosen animal/plant/insect.. They will need to draw the lifecycle
and write a short sentence about each stage.

Time permitting students will share their various animal/plant/insect.
