FALL 2015

8 South Bay Close

REPULSE BAY, HONG KONG

May God be gracious to us and bless us

and make his face to shine upon us,
that your way may be known on earth,
your saving power among all nations.
Let the peoples praise you, O God;
let all the peoples praise you! Psalm 67:13
Rising out of the parking garage, through the HKIS playground, and towering over the
church building is the Church of All Nations tower cross. The cross is visible from around
Repulse Bay in order to proclaim the crucified and living savior Jesus is present by his
word and in his people in this place. But what impact does Church of All Nations make on
this community? Are we merely set on a tower for people to look up to, or are we also sent
into the community of South Island and all of Hong Kong to carry the message of the
cross?
Church of All Nations is blessed to be a place where we receive the Grace of Jesus Christ in
Word and Sacrament. Together in worship and in fellowship we receive the good news that
we are saved by grace through faith, and faith is a gift of the Holy Spirit. In worship
together, we are blessed and made to be people of God together in community.
In addition as a church, we do not exist only for ourselves. God has called us to live out or
ordinary lives in faith. The tasks we do daily, working in business, teaching classes,
meeting with friends, washing dishes for the family, greeting the grocers with a smile, are
all made holy tasks through faith in Jesus. God does his work through people, and his
people can take joy knowing their work is in service to others.
During these two months, the community of Church of All Nations will focus on seeing
God at Work through Us. We pray that as God blesses the community through the
everyday tasks we do, the people around us see both the cross of Christ held up on the CAN
tower but also at work in our lives of faith and service.

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the
gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10For we are his
workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand,
that we should walk in them. (Ephesians 2:810)

HOME OF LOVING FAITHFULNESS (HOLF) celebrated its 50th Anniversary

with a thanksgiving service on October 10. The HOLF praised the Lord by
sharing Bible passages and their stories of God's faithfulness in the past, at
present, and in the future. For HOLF, the next fifty years has just began. The
residents are grateful for their ministry partners' undivided attention, love,
prayers, and support throughout these years. Church of All Nations has been
blessed to be part of this partnership.
On November 29, after late service, the Church of All
Nations is booked to visit and share moments in the
lives of the HOLF Residents. Please contact Ms
Mary Ewing at mewing@hkis.edu.hk if you are
available to join. Thanks!

Trip to Concordia Childrens Services

On Monday, September 28, 2015, 11

adults and children from Church of All
Nations traveled to Concordia
Childrens Services (CCS) in
Manila, Philippines.

The team had many

opportunities to play with
toddlers, hold the babies,
paint the walls, and lead
vacation Bible programs.
They also had helped clean
up the environment. We
give glory to God for the
service opportunity.
