Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is a public service


organization with more than 250,000 members in over
1,000 chapters in the United States and abroad. As a
corporate partner with the Delta Research and Educational
Foundation 501(c)(3), we work to eradicate educational,
social, and economic inequities. Our annual scholarship is
part of a larger commitment to provide encouragement

1. Essay: Why is it important for you to attend college.
Essay must be at least 250 words. Discuss any obstacles that
you have overcome, indicating how each has impacted your life
and your decision to pursue a college education. Please
provide the committee with any pertinent information you
would like us to consider in reviewing your application. Please
include your name at the top of your essay.
2. Three current letters of recommendation: one from a person
not related to you (e.g. your employer, church official,
community group leader), and two from school personnel
(counselor, teacher, coach, etc.)
3. Current copy of your official transcript (must contain the school
seal)
4. A recent 2x3 professional type headshot that is clear and could
be used for publication. Please print your name on the back of
your photograph.

It is understood that false statements on this application shall be
sufficient grounds for rejection of this application. I,

A statement of enrollment from a college official or letter of


verification from the registrars office verifying full time
enrollment.
A letter of request for scholarship funds to be mailed directly to
the college or university including your official name as it
appears on college/university records, student identification
number, and the mailing address of the financial aid or
cashiers office of your college or university.

This scholarship is not automatically renewed for previous recipients.
