A 3000m line measured at three steps, after measuring a distance

of 800m the tape was found to be 2cm too short, after measuring
the total distance of 1800m the tape was found to be 4cm too long,
and after measuring the total distance of 3000m the tape was
tested again and was found to be 8cm too long. Find the correct
distance measured. A tape was tested before starting the survey
and found to be exactly 30m.

L = I x (Act. tape length)/ (Ass. tape length)

L. AB = 800 x (30 - 0.02)/30 = 799.467m

L. BC = 1000 x (30 + 0.04)/30 = 1001.333 m

L. CD = 1200 x (30 + 0.08)/30 = 1203.2 m

Correct distance measured = AB +BC + CD

=799.467+1001.333+1203.2
=3004 m
