Cyber bullying
Bullying, as defined by the Dept. of Education and Science, is repeated
aggression, verbal, psychological or physical, conducted by an individual or
group against others. Bullying is systemic and ongoing unacceptable
behaviour.
Cyber bullying.is carried out through an internet service such
as email, chat room, discussion group or instant messaging or
text messaging
23% of Irish children say that someone has acted in a hateful or nasty way
towards them in the past 12 months. This is higher than the figure of 19%
reported for Europe as a whole.

Defamation Act 1961 2 Years Imprisonment and fine

Child Trafficking and Pornography Act 1998 Various offences 1-14


years

S.5 Criminal Damage Act 1991 (Access Data) 3 months 650

S.9 TFOA 2001 Unlawful use of a computer
