SOLUTE + SOLVENT
=SOLUTIONS

SOLUTIONS

A Solution is a homogeneous
mixture composed of only one
phase. In such a mixture, a solute
is a substance dissolved in
another substance, known as
solvent .The particles of solute in
a solution cannot be seen by
naked eye.

There are two types of

solutions
1.DILUTED SOLUTION
2.CONCENTRATED
SOLUTIONS

DILUTED SOLUTIONS

In diluted solutions solute is present in

less amount compare to solvent . To
achieve a dilute solution ,more solvent
is simply added without adding any
more solute in to the original mixture .
The solution is then stirred to mix the
two ingredients thoroughly. This
ensures that all parts of the mixture
have the same composition

Eg : In sugar solution ,
Solvent is water and
solute is sugar

CONCENTRATED
SOLUTIONS

Concentrated solution is a solution

that contains a large amount of
solute relative to the amount that
could dissolve. Many of the
products commonly used in homes
are concentrated solutions. In this
a large amount of solute dissolved
in a given solvent

Eg :Hand soap , Soft drinks and

Liquid medicine are Concentrated
solutions
