thenreassembledlocallyin1897.ThefountainwasoriginallymeanttobeplacedinMarketSquare,butthe
policeobjectedtothisplanonthegroundsthatitwouldobstructtheflowoftrafficthere.Thefountainwasbuilt
tocelebrateQueenVictoria'sDiamondJubilee.Theornamentalcentrepieceofthefountainconsistsofeight
