VESTING CEREMONY 2009

ILOCOS NORTE NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL

CLOSING REMARKS
by Samuel Batara

The song says it all: “It hurts to say goodbye”

The hurt in goodbye lies in the uncertainty of what may happen next to the person
who is leaving.

That is not the case with this batch of graduating students we have just robed.

You guys should have realized, how in your four years stay in the fold of your
beloved alma mater, you have persistently studied hard to be vested with the
knowledge, skills and values you will need for life. Your teachers have facilitated
your learning experiences, striving hard to make everyone of you functionally
literate, a creative and critical thinker, an independent problem solver and a work-
oriented lifelong- learner.

In the Graduation Ceremonies this evening, we are going to send you out as
graduates with the greatest confidence that you have received and are fully clothed
with the necessary preparations for tertiary education.

Those of you who choose, or are constrained by circumstances, to forgo college,

you can continue to realize your own potentials knowing that your school has
outfitted you with the fundamental skills necessary for life-long learning. You are
now ready to face life more creatively and more productively.

Our trust that you are armed with the tools necessary for you to actively participate
in the affairs of society has been reinforced by the inspiring presence of and the
invigorating utterances made by our Guest of Honor and Speaker, Dr. Miriam
Pascua. Madam President, you are a most credible proof that something great can
come out of Ilocos Norte National High School. The remarkable credentials, of an
outstanding and flourishing alumna, affirm that your alma mater has bestowed its
countless graduates the necessary foundations for achievement, in any chosen
career.

To you dear parents, these graduating sons and daughters owe you the self-giving
sacrifice you have endured for them, in the past 10 to12 years of their schooling.
But you still owe them another resolve, to see them through additional four or five
years of college, in order to complete the enhancement of the clothing of basic
education this school has equipped them with.

To you dear teachers, your steadfast dedication to mold and attire students with
quality learning has been substantiated by the distinction of our graduates, in the
world of work. Rest assured that these students we vested today will persevere, and
preserve that notable legacy.

To our DepEd, school and community officials, including our PTCA officers and
members, you have acted as vigilant vanguards ensuring that the gown of wisdom
we fit our students is also relevant to society’s needs and situations.

To well-wishers, supporters, and all other stakeholders, you have, one way or
another, contributed to the value of this vesting ceremony. May its significance and
goal remain alive and burning in our hearts and minds.

Congratulations and the force be with you.
