Child Abuse & Neglect

The mission with this training is:

For everyone to work together, forming one common
goal, which is, Stopping Child Abuse & Neglect!

This training teaches how to detect the signs of

physical, sexual and emotional abuse, along with
neglect.
In addition, to learning what information is needed
when making a report of child abuse or neglect.
All individuals in NC are required by law, to report
abuse.

Multidisciplinary Team Meetings

(MDT)
A team made up of professionals
from the community who come
together to discuss alleged
maltreatment of children & make
recommendations that may
benefit the child & family.
These meetings include any
reported case of child sexual or
serious physical abuse in
Robeson County wherein Child
Protective Services and/or law
enforcement is involved.

The MDT consists of:

Child Protective Services

Law Enforcement

Prosecution
Mental Health

Medical Professionals

Victim Advocacy

School Personnel

Child Family Team Meetings

(CFT)

CFT meetings are for

family members, their
community supports
and the agency to come
together to help create,
implement, and update
a plan with the child
and family.
This plan builds on the
strengths of the child,
youth, and family by
addressing their needs
and limitations.

After the initial meeting

follow-up meetings take
place every 90 days to
see how much progress
is being made with the
plan. If no progress is
being made then the
case manger can decide
how they would like the
plan to change and
move forward.
