Goals 2015-16
We will strive to have ALL students at proficient or advanced levels in
academics.
We will demonstrate appropriate social behavior skills throughout the school.
We will develop a community of readers, writers and thinkers who take
responsibility for their learning.
We will create a safe learning environment that empowers students to
develop personal responsibility.
Library Goals
Provide support for all curriculum standards so that all students can
successfully organize, analyze and interpret information for class work.
Promote collaboration between the librarian and teachers.
Provide and make accessible a wide variety of materials in a number of
formats, reaching all levels.
Encourage all patrons to become lifelong readers and learners.
Specific Library Goals for 2015-16
Update and expand Junior Fiction titles to increase pleasure reading in
students in grades 3-5. Many current titles are worn and uninteresting to
students.
Make the library more welcoming and easier to use for students and staff.
Create an atmosphere where reading and creativity are encouraged and
supported.
Increase size of collection to achieve a better selection.
Begin to balance collection according to suggestions found in TitleWave
