Getting an Account
1. Go to
http://getkahoot.com
2. Click
Get My Free Account
3. Complete the information requested and click
Create Account

Create a Kahoot

To create your first kahoot go to


http://getkahoot.com
Click on the type of Kahoot you want (
Quiz
,
Discussion,
Survey)

Type in a name for the Kahoot and click


Go!
Type in the first question in the
Question
box. You can add Bold, Italics, Superscipt,
Subscript, Special Characters - Latin, Currency, Math, Greek.

5. Under the
Points Question
dropdown choose

Points question
to trigger the
competition points or choose
No points question
to run a quiz without the
competition points (
NOTE
: competition points take into consideration correct answer
and response time).
6. Under the
Time limit
dropdown choose the amount of time you wish to give to
answer, between 5 seconds and 2 minutes.
7. Add an image (optional) or a video (experimental)
Image
- click on the
Image
tab and drag an image into the image area or click
Choose File
and select the image from your computer.
Video
- click on the
Video
tab and paste the YouTube address next to ID. You
can also determine the start and end time for the video.
8. Type in the answers you wish to use (between 2 and 4).

9. Click

to toggle the button to

on the right answer (
NOTE
: you can
have more than one correct answer).
10. Click
+ Add question
at the bottom to add the next question. Repeat until all
questions are added.
11. Click
Next: setting
when finished.

Settings
1. Select your language under the
Language
dropdown.
2. Choose your
Privacy Settings
- Public means others on the web can find and
use your Kahoot. Private means only you and those you share with, can use
the Kahoot. (NOTE: you can still share private Kahoots).
3. Select your
Primary Audience
. This is important if you are willing to make
your Kahoot public.
4. Type in a description and a difficulty setting.
5. Type in tags (descriptive words) that will help others find your Kahoot.
6. Click
Next: cover image
7. Add a cover image if you want using the same technique you used on the
questions. This is optional.
8. Click
Done.

Go to http://GetKahoot.com and login


At the top of the window click
Me

next to the Kahoot you wish to use
On the main screen, prior to clicking Launch you can configure some settings
a. Display game-pin throughout?
- this allows the pin number that students use
to access the Kahoot to display through the entire quiz. This way students
that come late or cant get in in time arent prevented from playing the entire
time.
b. Show minimised lobby instructions?
- this moves the pin and URL instructions
to a small banner at the top of the window. Its not as easy to see or clear for
your students to follow.
c. Randomize order of answers in each question?
- changes the order of the
answers each time the Kahoot is played. This should not be used with
True/False questions.
d. Play music in the lobby whilst waiting?
- plays gamish music while students
are getting logged in.

5. Advanced options
a. Automatically move through questions?
- this prevents the instructor from
clicking on
Next question
to move to the next one. It does it automatically.
b. Require players to re-join after each Kahoot?
- makes the students rekey in the
pin each time.
c. Display your venues wifi details to players?- this allows you to put a guest
network and password in the Kahoot. This is good for conferences.
6. Click
Launch
to start gameplay. (
NOTE
: you must project onto a screen for your class
to see).
7. Students will then go to
http://kahoot.it
and type in the Game-pin number. As they
do this they will be asked to type in a Nickname and that will appear on your screen.
Once all your students are on the screen click
Start now
to begin the Kahoot.
8. The question comes up and the timer begins. The student answers the question and
the question will advance to the results automatically. Click
Next Question
to
continue through the Kahoot.
9. When finished click
Finish and Results
10. Download the results to be opened in Excel.

Students go to
http://kahoot.it
They will type in the Game-pin and click
Enter
Then they should type in a
Nickname.
Once the instructor begins the quiz the question will display on the screen. The
students device will display for colors/shapes. The student will click on the symbol
that relates to the symbol of the correct answer on the screen.

Share your Kahoot


You can share your Kahoot with other people that you know. You can share Private and
Public Kahoots.
1. In Kahoot go to your list of Kahoots and click on the name of the one you wish to
share.

2. To share a Kahoot with another member click the


Share
button and type in the
username or email of the person with whom you wish to share. This Kahoot will be
available to them in their Kahoot space.
3. You can also share a Kahoot via a weblink.
4. If the Kahoot is public it is available on the main Kahoot screen.

Play a public Kahoot


1. Log into
http://getkahoot.com
and click on
Public
from the top banner.
2. Browse or search for a kahoot.
3. Click P
lay
to play the Kahoot.

Modify a Public Kahoot

and click on
Public
from the top banner.
Browse or search for a kahoot.
Mouse over the name of the Kahoot to bring up the submenu and click
Duplicate
.
It copies it into your Kahoot area and you can edit it.
