The goal of education is to enrich the lives of students while producing articulate, expressive

thinkers and lifelong learners who are socially responsible, resilient, and active citizens of the
world. Its about teaching students, not subjects. We must engage and inspire students to work
hard to reach goals that will prepare them to be our great leaders in the future.

Academic/Teaching Experience
I have been teaching 7th and 8th grade resource math for 6 years now and this year have been
continuing with resource plus 8th grade math inclusion.
I have taught 8th grade math for two full years and summer school for three years.
I worked in both 7th and 8th grade classrooms working with special education students. I also worked
in Content Mastery rooms with students having trouble with their class work.
In my job in Houston, I did not only work with the students, I also helped with various paperwork for
our special education department. I also helped the math teacher I worked with, Erin Gilbert, in
making assignments, and a TAKS board game to study with for the big day.
I was the Student Council Sponsor at Pittsburg Jr. High putting together school dances, fundraisers,
and projects both for our school, the staff, and the environment.
