1. For someone working in your field, please describe the fantasies versus realities of the job.
(fantasy vs. reality)
Thought he would be financially better off, and he is working more than in residency. His senior year he
would only take two calls and now he takes around 5 or 6. Way more busy but not as much compensation. TY
Obama.

2. What is your current educational level? What continuing education and training are required?

MD. PhD in biomedical engineering. Same as Matt for CE credits

3. Please describe the typical day to day activities of someone working in your field.
(day-to-day activities)
Wakes up at 5:30 and comes to work. Works until whenever, there is really no time frame but average day is about
10 hours, with on call hours. Can be around 60 hours in a 5 day work week.

4. How secure are you in your current position? What do you think is the future of your field?

He has good job security, can find a job anywhere (all you have as a doctor now, TY Obama).
Uncertain about the future cause of the drastic changes in health care, can be around a drop of 100% of salary.
5. What is a typical (average or lowest to highest) salary of someone working in your field?

$280,000 (before taxes TY Obama)

6. What potential for growth is there in your field?

Not really.

7. Would the location of the hospital affect your job security?


Same answer as Matt.

8. About how many hours, would you say, go into your typical work week? (on the clock and working
from home: if applicable)
About 75 hours per week. But this week he is going to be working for about 80 hours.

9. What benefits does the hospital you work at provide that made you choose to work there?
Works in the same group as Matt so he gets the same benefits.

10. Are you staying where you are or are you going to try to advance in your field (if applicable)?

Staying. He is done with his degree and does not want any more school or the like.
