Clustering, Phase I
Friday, March 26, 2010
Clustering, Phase I
- Group similar concepts together
- Stand up at a wall or board and tape up each concept
- The first round of clustering, do not talk, just cluster.
This is called a ‘silent sort’
- Give each cluster a preliminary title
- When all of the concepts are up or you’re stuck, feel
free to discuss what you’re thinking

one or two final concepts from each grouping, taking
the best components of each individual sheet
- Cluster clusters, if necessary
- Give each concept grouping a final concept name
- Look for relationships between clusters

Building User Scenarios
- Tell a full, cohesive story
- Illustrate multiple concepts in each story, one at a time
- Incorporate each concept once
- Give a short description and benefit statement for each
concept described

your new concept system
