Many Medical Doctors tells their patients that what the doctor wants is based
upon empirical science, and the patient has nothing to say about it. In fact, this is a lie.
Most of medicine is based upon tradition, which may, or may not, be valid. There really
are not that many empirical studies which support common medical practices. You see,
evidence that studies done on rats, or other animals, are in any way applicable to human
beings. Additionally, almost all of the medical studies done are fatally flawed. For
example, to test to see if a particular substance is a carcinogen, they use huge amounts of
the substance, much more than a human being could ever assimilate in a lifetime. Also,
no distinction is made between men and women. In theory, a pregnancy study done on
women could be applied to men, even though this is patently absurd. The physiology of
men and women is different. Men run on testosterone and women run on estrogen, and
this results in huge physiological differences which, typically, are not accounted for. For
example, the weight of men and women obviously differs. Men are more muscular, as a
group, and women have breasts and men don’t. The hips of men and women are
constructed differently. Medical studies, typically, do not take into account race and
ethnicity. In fact, the physiology of blacks is not the same as white Scandanavians. It
used to be medical studies dealing with white men were considered normative, now
medical studies dealing with black men are considered normative, and, in fact, neither are
normative at all. Finally, almost all medical studies are fatally flawed because they use
an absurd standard deviation in the statistical analysis. In fact, other than natural law,
which has not been explored very much, there is no way to come up with any standard
deviation that is normative. For example, for empirical research in the “hard” sciences,
a standard deviation above point five (.5) is not allowed. In medicine, with no
explanation, the standard deviation often jumps to range of 5-7. In psychology and
Now, what to conclude from this. We need to develop Wisdom Medicine, which
is halfway between homeopathic medicine and scientific medicine. Doctors must listen
to their patients. Patients often do a good job of self-diagnosing. The day of the
