1.

This paper consists of ONE major task.

2.

The task consists of a background, theme, audience and production.

3.

You are required to respond to the entire task. Any text-based response should
be done using an appropriate text or web editor (for example, word processor
or notepad).

4.

A digital media kit has been provided to assist you in the production work.

5.

All work, including project and asset files used MUST be digitally compressed
into a SINGLE ZIP FILE, included with your final submission at the end of
the examination and exported as directed by the invigilator. The zipped file
should be given your name followed by ID number (for example, John Doe
123456789).

6.

The use of mobile phones is NOT allowed.

7.

Internet connectivity is NOT allowed.

8.

All hard copies must be handed over to the invigilator at the end of the
examination.

9.

You are strongly advised to save your work intermittently.

Guidelines:

The Seawall Cafe is a small restaurant that wants to attract some of the tourists who
frequent the area in which it is located. To achieve this goal, Seawall Cafe is rebranding
and updating their website. The logo (provided in the kit) has already been updated but the
current website does not match the new brand. You have been asked to work on refreshing
the website and proposing a mobile application. The scope of this project involves the
following:

A home page design with an introductory video

High fidelity mockup of the home page for a website that will promote the
restaurant (the home page should have ONE layout)
A short video introducing the restaurant

To get an idea of the preferred feel, samples of the decor identified for the interior
decoration have been included. You will also find the logo and other appropriate media
in the kit provided.

Create a content checklist that identifies FIVE distinct sections of the website other than
the home page.

Create FOUR sketches representing possible options for the home page. In each of these
sketches, account for the placement of the introductory video on the page. (You MUST
create your solution as a separate document, label it as Question 1(c) and submit it
with your final submission.)

(a)

A mobile application will allow visitors to reserve a seat at the restaurant. Create
THREE thumbnails showing how this feature will work. (You MUST create your
solution as a separate document, label it as Question 2(a) and submit it with your final
submission.)

Create a high fidelity web page mock-up of the site based on the sketches. You may use
any appropriate drawing software. The mock-up must include the following:


(i) A representation of the video


(ii) The restaurant logo


(iii) A navigation (with credible link categories)

Question 2(b) and submit it with your final submission.)

Name TWO mobile operating systems that may be utilized when developing the website.

Describe TWO important elements that must be considered when designing a website for
tablets that would not be necessary for a desktop.

introduces the restaurant to visitors. (You MUST create your solution as a separate
document, label it as Question 3(b) and submit it with your final submission.)

Ensure that it does NOT exceed 150 MB and submit.

Export your finished video into ONE of the following formats:

Place your finished video, webpage mock-up and annotated version of the mock-up in a

Compress the folder and ensure that it does NOT exceed 150 MB and remember to submit.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE SUBMISSION OF COMPLETED WORK
After the invigilator has signalled the end of the examination,
compress your work (project and asset files) into a single zip file,
name the file using your name followed by your candidate ID and
save it to the flash drive as directed by the invigilator.
