Course Title

NCFE Level 1 Graphic Design

My personal qualities/skills
and achievements

I would like to achieve improving my skills in Illustrator and Phototshop. I have

knowledge in these applications as i have done courses on these before but, as i work
mainly in Quark as a Graphic Designer at the NeuroMuscular Centre it is important to
brush up my skills in these areas and also learn the Indesign application for my job
role.

Helping you to learn: Is there

anything that is making it
difficult for you to succeed at
the NMC e.g. transport,
childcare, finance, additional
support needs?

I have self confidence issues and i find that it is difficult for me to process information
quickly. I do get stressed easily if things are not going right i do not like asking for help
especially if i have to ask more than once.

Long term aims: What are you

hoping to do after you have
completed your course at the
NMC?

I intend to have more knowledge on Graphic Design and bring more to my role at the
NMC through the use of my new skills that i intend to learn.

What do you enjoy

doing/what have you enjoyed
doing? - explore the key
skills used, preferences and
enthusiasms

I enjoy working with Peter who i have befriended recently and he is also studying at the
NMC. We live close by and i think it will be good for us to help each other during the
courses we are on and also after we have completed them. We get on well and as well
as attending the NMC on Mondays - we go for a swim together on Tuesdays at out
local pool.

What kind of skills do you

need to develop to fulfil
aspirations? - prompt the
learner to think and suggest
skills gaps that you can see

I need to improve my self confidence. I need motivating - i get very fatigued due to my
condition and i find that i loose interest in things easily and my mind wanders.

What and how have you

enjoyed learning in the past?

I enjoy working as part of a team as i can gain confidence and advice for another
person. I enjoy creating posters and working in Photoshop. I like a mixture of ways of
learning and i am open minded obout learning.

Wat are your expectations of

studying at the NMC

I expect i will become more knowledgeable in areas that i am less confident at. I expect
to enable myself to improve on the software programme, and also improve my role at
the NeuroMuscular Centre.
