to navigate web pages

Introduction
Demonstration on how to use browser tools in the search
engine, to navigate web pages. The steps that I write in this
presentation should be simple and followed clearly. Many of
the instructions, which demonstrate how to use certain
tools are the same and should be understood clearly. There
are many screenshots that I think will try to help me
visualise what I am learning and will help me try to do the
demonstration by myself.

Step 1
How to user browser tools to navigate web pages
The scroll bar is the vertical bar on the right of the browser
window. You can scroll up and down a web page by placing
the cursor on the slider control and holding down the mouse
button. Your browser is equipped with many useful features to
assist you in navigating through the Web. These features are
labelled in the picture below:

The menu bar, located at the very
top of the screen, can be
accessed using the mouse. When
you hold down the mouse button
over an item in the main menu, a
submenu is pulled down that has
a variety of options. Actions that
are in black can be performed,
while actions that cannot be
performed will be in grey or
lightened. The submenus provide
keyboard shortcuts for many
common actions, allowing you to
implement the functions faster
than using the mouse.

The tool bar is located at the top of the browser; it
contains navigational buttons for the Web. Basic

How to use a browser in order

a) Show how to use a browser in order to go back,
forward and stop page.
Alternatively referred to as a web browser, a browser is a
software program created as a simplified means to
present and explore content on the World Wide Web.
These pieces of content, including pictures, videos, and
web pages, are connected using hyperlinks and classified
with Uniform Recourse Identifiers (URLs).
There have been many different web browsers that have
come and gone over the years; the first, named
Worldwide Web (later changed to Nexus) was invented by
Tim Berners-Lee in 1990.

How to access history & bookmark

Show how to access to your history:- Go Google search click on

customized and control Google chrome, you can find out different tab
click history on your left box to shows you how to access to your hist

which is recorded by web browser software as standard for a certain
of time. Web browser software does this in order to provide the user

Bookmark pages: s- Is a shortcut to a previously viewed website and

save website addresses for easy access in the future. The option tha
use to save a website in internet explorer is an example of a bookma
research saving internet sits with source material. Bookmark is a sav
shortcut that directs your browser to specific web page. It stores the
saving bookmarks allows you to easy access favourite location on th
website.

Open a new window/tab:- To open a new tab or window you go to the page you are on and on the top right hand is a little tab you click on, that allows you to open a new
browser for you to view and use.

Use the search bar and the address bar:- There are two places to search from when you open up a web browser, they are called, address bar and search bar. The address
bar is at the very top of the page and can be used if you know the exact address of the site that you want to go to, and also the search bar is in the middle of the page of web
in Google chrome.

Demonstrate how to changes browser settings for specific conditions

f) Private browsing:- "private browsing" or "incognito mode", is a privacy feature in some web browsers to disable browsing history and the web cache. This allows a person
to browse the Web without storing local data that could be retrieved at a later date.
G )Disable pop-ups:- Software or applications that disable any pop-up, pop-over or pop-under advertisement window that you would see while using a Web browser.
h) Change the search engine:- click on the customise and control Google chrome button/icon on the left side of the page, scroll down and click on the setting option. After,
look for the sub-heading titled Search and you will have the option to change your search engine.
i) Zoom in to text:- click on the customise and control Google chrome button/icon which is on the right side of the page, then scroll down and click on the zoom button.
ii) Demonstrate how to find a keyword:- Go on the toolbar/taskbar and it will have a small rectangle called keyword.

h)Demonstrate how to access the help page within a browser - click on the customise and control Google chrome button/icon on the left side of the page, scroll down and
click on the Help and About button.

i) Demonstrate how to access further help online in order to resolve any issues with a browser First follow these steps: click on the customise and
control Google chrome button/icon on the left side of the page, scroll down and click on the Help and About button. After, click on the Help centre button
and it will take you to a page called chrome help and you can access further help there and resolve any issues with a browser.

Demonstrate how to use a search engine

j) Demonstrate how to search for information from a specific date To search for information from specific date, go to google search bar and write in
the search bar Advance Search. After click on the first icon that says Google Advance Search.

k) Demonstrate how search for a keyword To search for keywords, you need to go to the search bar and enter the key word you are
searching for and then you will find the results.

Demonstrate how to find information excluding a key word Just use the search bar to find any information you need.

m) Demonstrate how to find an article from a specific website You can use the search bar and write the specific website to find the article you
are looking for.
n) Demonstrate how to find information from a specific author Use the search bar in the middle of the page and write the specific name of
the author.

o) Demonstrate how to find a specific file type e.g. pdf You use search bar and type the exact type of file you are looking for, e.g. EastEnders
season one script pdf

p) Demonstrate how to find definitions You go to the search bar and write the word you are looking for, then next to the word write definition. You
will get the definition of the word you are looking for.
q) Demonstrate how to use the calculator via a search engine You type Online Calculator inside the search bar, then you will have may options to
chose from the list you have been give.

Conclusion
I should be able to now know how to use tool browsers to
navigate through web pages by following the steps I have
given myself. I have tried to make the steps easy and clear for
me to understand and go back to check it over again and
again. Most of the instructions that I have written are repeated
because search engines try to make searching easier, due to
the fact that people of all ages use the search engine. I also
added screenshots because it helps me see what Im doing
and if I'm doing it wrong. If I'm doing it wrong I will not get the
same results as the screenshots.
