The Latest With Lizzie

News from Current VP of Philanthropy, Lizzie Gray
It is safe to say that our chapter has been busy! We raised
more than $3000 for survivors of domestic violence at this
years Walk A Mile. Safe Halloween and pumpkin carving
at Richards Elementary School were also successful. On
November 14, our chapter will be joining Lambda Chi to
volunteer at Eles Place. Look for sign up sheets in your
emails. Thanks again for all of the extra time, effort and
financial support so far-keep it up ladies!

Social Corner
Last months hayride date party was a
blast-and was completely incident free.
Lets keep the safe, fun social events
going with semi-formal this month. The
event will take place right here in East
Lansing at Club Rush. Food, beverages
and music will be provided at the venue.
Tickets are only $12 per person and the
email to sign up has already been sent
out. If you are interested in being on the
planning committee for Alpha Chi
Omegas 2016 Formal, please email
Jasmine Goryoka, current social chair, at
jgoryoka@msu.edu.

The Sisterhood Report

Almost the entire chapter was able to make it
to Octobers high ropes retreat, which gave
everyone a great way to meet our fabulous
new members! Another annual event is
coming up-Moms Day! Make sure to invite
your mothers to come for brunch at Alpha
Chi Omega, followed by a viewing of Dirty
Dancing at the Wharton Center on November
21. Tickets are $28 per person. Finally, now
that all new members have received their
mentors, we will be going to Uncle Johns
Cider Mill for a Big/Little bonding event on
November 30. Transportation will be
provided for free. Sign up sheets for both
events will be available at our next formal
chapter meeting.

Member of the Month

Hunter Harrisons outstanding commitment to community,
academics and sisterhood have qualified her to be named

company devoted to helping people in the Lansing community
find more affordable, healthy food options. She also volunteers
every other day at Sparrow Hospital, is a member of the
American Red Cross Association and tutors high school students
at East Lansing High School. Hunter also serves as Alpha Chi

Alumni Advice
Alexis Widger
graduated last
spring and
landed her
dream job as a
Marketing
Coordinator at
Cosmo.
In regards to the
professional world, the most
important thing to do is
network while youre still in
college. Of course classes
and internships are
important, but you need to
be able to put yourself out
there and make connections
with people. Keep in mind
that everyone you meet is
someone that could
potentially decide whether
or not you get a job one daythe person that hired me was
actually one of my TAs
freshman year!

Intellectual Insight
Last semester, Alpha Chi Omega had the fourth highest
cumulative GPA for sororities at Michigan State! This
semester, our goal is to move up in the rankings. In
order to help up meet this goal, study hours and
tutoring sessions will now be held on Mondays,
Wednesdays and Fridays from noon until 3 PM. Study
hard-youre doing great!
