childformiddleschoolandhighschool.TheseareveryimportantyearsforthestudentsandI
willdomybesttoencouragegoodstudyhabits.Ifeelthesearenecessaryskillsforsuccessin
school.
InordertofosterexcellentstudyskillsIassignhomeworkonaregularbasis.Therewillalsobe
severalresearchprojectsandbookreportsassignedthroughouttheyear.Establishingasuitable
timeandaquietwelllitplaceforhomestudywillenableyourchildtogetintoaroutineof
studyingeachday.
Inordertocreateapositivelearningenvironment,Ihavedevelopedaclassroomdisciplineplan
withspecificexpectationsforallstudents. Everyoneintheclassroomwillworktogetherasa
team to achieve our learning goals with few interruptions. The plan below outlines the
classroomrules,positiverewards,andconsequencesforappropriateandinappropriatebehavior.

Forth:Consequence Officevisit(ifstudentchoosestofightorbreakmultiplerules)
Toencouragestudents,Iwillrecognizeappropriatebehaviorwithindividual,group,andclass
rewards.Individualstudentswillbepraisedfortheirgoodbehaviorandwillberewardedwith
positivenotes,stickers,orspecialprivileges.Onaweeklybasis,groupsmayearnpointstowards

aspecialtripforcooperationandpreparation.Also,theentireclassmayearnpicklesforcertain
achievementsasaclass.
TherearevariouswaysIwouldappreciateyoursupportathome:
Askyourchildwhattheylearnedinschoolthatday(somehomeworkassignmentswillinvolve
yourchildteachingyouaconcepttheylearnedinclass).

Emphasizetheimportanceofhomeworkandhardwork. Astheywillhavehomework
everynightexceptFriday,pleasehelpthemtoestablisharegulartimeandplace(away
fromtheTV)tocompletetheirhomework.

Youcanstayuptodateonyourchildshomeworkandassignmentsbycheckingtheir
BiggestLittlePlanner.ThereisalsoaspaceoneachpageoftheResourceBookforyou
towritenotestome.Iwillcheckthisbookdaily.
