An exhibition of observations, both witnessed
and imagined of the rana plaza collapse.

On 24th April, 2013,
1127 garment workers
perished in the collapse
of Rana Plaza in
Savar. This exhibition,
Murder, Not Tragedy,
documents that event,
and provides a record of
protest by Bangladeshi
photographers, activists
and other artists.

As the image overleaf shows, this


is a confronting exhibition. It can
only be so. Murder, Not Tragedy
confronts us with the reality of the
Bangladeshi garment industry.

with Bangaldeshi garment workers
and union activists to organise
workers and communities, both in
Bangladesh and Australia, to put
an end to the gross exploitation of
which Rana Plaza is a symbol.
