Generation Z

The up and coming generation z is one like no other. Generation z refers to the group of
people born from 1995 to present; it contributes to 1/4th the American population. They
are smart, future focused, and are based around technology. It is occasionally referred
to as the ADD generation because of its short attention span with the culture to match.
Generation Z is faced with more stress and unsure faits than any other generation. They
are self aware of this which causes them to be more creative and self sufficient than
previous generations. Zs small eco footprint and strong sense of equality is proof that
they understand a bigger picture. They know what they want in the future.
Generation z is special for the reason of how interwoven they are with
technology. Just now we are using technology like people dreamt of back in the 80s.
We are all equipped with portable computers that can access any piece of published
information, and its normal. This generation learned how to use computers at a very
young age, and grew up with the creation of new technology and ideas, and because of
the rate in which technology advances they possess the ability to adapt with it. Smart
phones are standard and are used like a survival tool. If you need to order a pizza or
simply get directions to your friends house, your Iphone will always be there.
Technology benefits our youngest generations mostly by enabling them to do
independent research, if they have a question about anything, they can find the answer

on the internet. Access to YouTube videos makes generation Z handier than ever, there
is a how to video for any issue they will encounter. The advance in technology also
blossomed social media into what it is today.
Social media is a website or app that allows you to share content with others.
Social media has its benefits, like quick communication and an easy sense of
community, but it also has its negative outcomes. Social media connects us to our
peers 24/7 and usually only portrays the highlights of your peers lives. Constantly
seeing others doing glamorized activities provokes the feeling of missing out. It makes
ones life feel boring in comparison. Social media also is a new front for bullying. In the
past kids could escape bulling by going home, but now kids have to deal with bullying
every time theyre on the internet. The next generation cares about their internet image
and is at a constant effort to defend their digital profile. Being constantly in connection
with people and technology had lowered the attention rate of the up and coming
generation.
Generation Z is occasionally referred to as the ADD generation. This is for the
increase in ADD prescribed patients, but also because of its culture. There are two
Common theories behind the increase in ADD patients; more people are aware of the
disorder so more people are likely to get treatment for it; generation z is constantly
being stimulated, resulting in lower attention rates. The surplus of ADD diagnosed
members in our society has caused a cultural shift. The art that our ADD generation is
producing is futuristic, colorful, and sporadic. Its usually crafted to fit a demographic
with a short attention span. Generation Zs art is abstract and is not confined to a single

median. Multimodal art is more common with the integration of technology. This
generation is focused on making the future today, if they mean to do so or not.
Our youngest generation has to deal with the future being complex, jobs being an
uncertainty, and higher education being expensive. There is a strong pressure put on
this age group to figure out their careers and futures, but at the rate the future is
changing it is hard to make any defiant decisions. College seems like a good idea until
you recognize that college isnt for everyone, youre not assured a job in your field of
study, and the debt that comes with college is sometimes the equivalent price to a
house. I believe these stresses and a combination of good parenting is what produces
such an ambitious, creative, goal oriented people. This generation feels obligated to
respect because they are self aware of the adversity they face.
Generation z is the most understanding generation with the strongest morals on
equality. Four out of Five people in this generation say they have more drive than their
peers, this is a prime example of the ambitious mindset. This generation is also the
greenest in terms of recycling. Generation Z crafted has an overall vibe of being open
minded and accepting. This all ties under the feeling of to each their own and treat
others as you would want to be treated which this generation seems to live by. This
generation is putting their best foot forward. They know how to recognize problems and
fix them. They are the hope for a brighter future.
The generation z is unique like no other because of its ambition, intelligence, and its
open mind. They are more connected through social media and equipped with portable
computers that are programmed to aid their survival. Even though they are faced with

stress and uncertain futures, they proceed to think, create, and adapt to their new
environment.
