Starter What is email short for?
An email is short for electronic email.

1. Explain the store and forward system.


An email client composes an email that connects the client with the email provider sending the email using smtp.
This server is located on the internet, once here it is then transferred through the internet to the recipient. The
recipients connect the machine to the email through pop3. The email is now sent. The reply is sent across the
internet using smtp, and it arrives at the email server of the recipients. It is connected through the email server
using pop3 and retrieves the email through the client machine.

This is the recipient, the person receiving the email.

Carbon copy is an email sent to multiple other recipients. The original person that the email was sent to gets
notified of the other people involved.

Blind carbon copy is when the original recipient doesnt get notified about the others who also got the message

4. Explain the following email protocols used.

It is a protocol used to transfer mail from server to server.

5. Explain how you would add an attachment to an email message. Use bullet points rather than writing a

You have to create a message or for an existent you have to click reply, reply all, or forward. Once that has
been done you need to click on the message tab under that will be a list of options, you then click include
group. Under include group you will find attach item.

Blind carbon copy is when someone sends a message to a group of people the recipient, in this case the bcc,
wont be able to see who the other recipients who received the same message were sent to.
