What is E-Sports?

E-Sports is professional video gaming


E-sports are games that hold tournaments, either local, nation-wide or worldwide
These events can also be held either in person or over the internet

Connection to Sports

Massive fanbase
Arenas that they are played in are filled rapidly
There are tactics to how the game is played in practice and tournaments
Players have a strict practice regimen, as well as dietitian requirements and
exercise routines

Who is watching?

The stereotype for whom an


eSports fan is would be a single
man in his mid 20s possibly living
in a basement.
In actuality more than half of the
fans are employed fulltime, and
44% are parents
eSports typically appeals to a
younger audience, as they are the
new generation of gamers

What it takes to be a pro gamer

Play a minimum of 50 hours a week, most of the time more


Practice as a team 8 hours a day
Team practice consists of scrimmaging against other pro and semi-pro
teams
After going home most players play solo que where they are matched with
others of the same skill level

Korean Practice Regiment

Practice between twelve and fourteen hours a day


If an american plays 30 games a week, a korean player would play about 7080 games in the same week.
Monday is typically the day off, when most people would spend time with
family, the korean plays will spend that time to practice more
