Page one: What was it?
-The Russian Revolution was a massive uprising in
1917
-The people of Russia had grown tired of living
under the Tzar, which is Russian for King.
-The people decided to overthrow the Tzarist
Government
-A group of people, known as the Bolsheviks, took
command of the revolution and created a
communist agenda
-The revolt removed the traditional government
and replaced it with Communism.

Who was in it:
Tzar Nicholas: The reigning Tzar during the revolution,
himself and his family was captured and killed
Anastasia: Tzars daughter whos body was never
found, legend has it she escaped the fate her family
suffered
Rasputin: Mystic man who advised the royal family
Vladamir Lenin: Leader of the Bolsheviks, took over the
government after the revolution
Joesph Stalin: One of Lenins advisors, seized power
after Lenins death and became dictator

Why was it important:


The Russian Revolution created the Soviet Union, which would
be first a world power and then during the cold war would
become a world superpower. It also saw the creation of one of
the first communist states.
