Final Reflective Essay
When I thought of a place for my practice, I thought in which that site should be
the Carole Robertson Center for Learning; there I made my first training courses for this
beautiful childcare field. I started taking the courses required to meet the regulations of
the state of Illinois to take care of children, as are first aid and CPR to name a couple. I
look first at Luz Macias is an important character; she has always supported me with
valuable information to get by. In Human Resource Department, persons were charming
as Betty and Mrs. Ruby Walker. They received me, they embraced, and they guided to fill
out the necessary documents according to the rules and start my practice.
Once I reached the room 204, I found people with who welcome me, like teacher
Ana Gonzalez. At that moment, I understood that being in this room would be a great
experience, and it was. The teacher Ana is a person with more than 14 years in the center
and has collaborated with the training of many students and future employees of the
center. I can say she have a gift that makes it different and special for this task. My goals
then were even more clear; my first goal would be to learn what more could the way to
work and how to run a classroom, with two assistants, a volunteer a future teacher and, of
course, children are the reason work of us all.
My first lesson was, the teacher in charge is responsible for all management and
all living somehow. We must support and understand their decisions always end up
looking, learning and wellbeing of children. The second lesson is continuous and hard
work, to preserve an environment that breathes tranquility of learning, children are
hungry for experience and knowledge and the right atmosphere it makes children want to

learn why they motived, happy and busy. The third lesson is the affection she shows her
students, the slope of his achievements and needs and know how to caress with words.
Moreover, the logistical support provided by the center to teachers, that was my
second goal; understand how you could feed a healthy way to more than 300 children. As
care for those who need special food for diseases such as allergies. Part of the goal was to
understand how observed and evaluated and provisions made for each of the children and
how all that work in the center is coordinated, it was then when the teacher Ana told me
about Teaching Strategies Gold program, which lets out a record for each child, living
and age group. Besides, dealing with the documentation necessary to enroll children.
View as fire drills for all this community realized it was also a great experience, but I
understood that when consistently done all can act more professionally, both teachers and
children.
After three months, I can conclude that this was a beautiful experience. I learned
many songs with Yvette teacher and Ana teacher, teach them also make them and the
children some songs in Spanish which incidentally are singing. Ana teacher wants
program is bilingual and is glad to see African children singing in Spanish and having
fun, and I think that is live multiculturalism and inclusion in a group. Many thanks Ana
for my teacher and we are his students.
Thus gladly I say that I made the best decision when I considered the Carole
Robertson Center for Learning would be a good place to do my final practice, it was not
just good, it was wonderful, enriching and unforgettable. Many thanks to Ana, Yvette,

Fatima and of course, the children who accepted me and listened, and all administrative
