Teaching Philosophy

As a future educator, I have maintained the belief that all students are granted the freedom
to pursue an education protected from discrimination, prejudice, or any other sentiments that would
deny any individual an equal opportunity to succeed academically. Moreover, educators must
possess the capacity to recognize the diverse learning styles and abilities of their students. In doing
so, teachers can tailor their lessons and assessments to better evaluate students learning processes
and experience higher levels of interest and participation. By providing specific codes of ethics
and conduct, teachers are held accountable for the welfare of their students in accordance with the
law and professional responsibilities.
By complying with these codes of conduct and ethics, teachers are not only facilitating their
students learning development, but they are also preparing them to function as citizens in everyday
life. In this sense, teachers have a moral obligation to encourage higher level thinking processes
for their students that can be applied within educational and societal contexts. A great way for
teachers to perform this responsibility is to lead by example in a way that students will respect their
character and professionalism. By exhibiting qualities of a role model, teachers can hopefully
create a strongeryet still appropriaterapport with their students. There is, however, an issue
that must be recognized by teachers who establish a close relationship with their students.
Educators, as professionals, are required to carefully manage confidential information in a
responsible manner. Teachers must be capable of balancing this relationship to an extent that they
are still in control of their classroom and that all students feel supported and appreciated
throughout the school year.
As a teacher, I plan to incorporate a wealth of knowledge and skills that I have studied and
practiced into my teaching style to ensure that my students are all receiving the best possible
education they can. If a common problem remains unfixed, I will actively represent my students
best interests in the professional decision-making processes conducted within my respective
district. By signing a contract with a potential employer, I will continually abide by the rules and
expectations outlined in my contract. Additionally, I will consider peer and student feedback to
effectively adjust my teaching style, thus striving to develop professionally as a benefit to everyone
involved in the educational field. Ultimately, I will adhere by the law and the expectations attached
with education to strive toward the goal of improving the scholastic process for both educators and
students.
