Modifications /Adaptations: I f students demonstrate a low skill

level I will use a foam ball for kickball. Foam ball will also be
larger which would make it easier to strike.

Lesson Focus;
Task 1 Instructor will split up class evenly into two teams to
conduct a short kickball game while wearing pedometers.
Task Extension After kickball game is finished, we will
discuss the game and how active we thought we were then
looking at the pedometers and logging our steps
Culminating Activity Instructor will then split the class up
evenly into two teams and conduct a short tag game. We will
then gather as a class after the tag game and once again discuss
the activity level of the game and log the steps from our
pedometers. As a class we will then discuss and compare the
activity level of the two games.

Additional Information: keeping the students informed and

instructed to keep them on task at all times is very important.

Assessment Activity/Technique/Item- In conclusion of each

game we will discuss the usage of the pedometers and the

Closure:

After the kickball game concludes I will have them gather in

the center of the gym. I will ask them what they think the
level of the activity game was on a scale of 1-5 and guess
how many steps they took.
I will then have the students come up and retrieve a index
card and a pencil and each student will log the number of
steps they took.
After returning their pencils and index cards to me I will have
them sit in the center of the gym where they can listen to
further instruction.
Students will then play tag game called fire and ice while
wearing the pedometer ( a form of freeze tag) 2 students will
receive blue foam balls and 2 students will receive a red foam
ball. The rest of the students must avoid getting tagged with
the blue foam ball, if they are tagged by the blue ball they are
frozen at that point and cannot move. However, the students
with the red foam ball can help a friend by giving them that
red ball and unfreezing them which now their job is to help a
friend.
Once the game has concluded they will receive their index
card and a pencil and log the amount of steps they took. At
that point we will compare the two games and how many
steps were taken in each game. We will discuss the difference
in activity levels which they should be able to identify after
logging their steps in each game.

Reflection: What went well? What did not go well? What will you change next time?
_I thought the lesson went very well, the students were interested throughout the whole lesson because we were playing fun games and they also like
new equipment such as the pedometer which most have never used before. I will not change much next class maybe try to keep as organized as possible
every time, lesson went very
well.___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
