ort_and_Programs/Technology_Planning/ePlan/

Describe the connection between the research and the plans goals.
The connection between the article and the plans goals is that it analyzes
the goals from different perspectives such as students, teachers, and
administrators.
CURRICULUM COMPONENT CRITERIA.

The Plan must establish clear goals and realistic strategy for using
telecommunications and information technology to improve education services.
(Answer at least 2 questions for each subsection below)

Describe teachers' current access to instructional technology and current use of

digital tools.

What technology is currently available to all teachers?

As of now, each of the teachers on our campus is assigned to a personal
laptop for educational purposes. Also, each classroom has an overhead
projector. Many classrooms are equipped with the Smart White Board. In
total, there are 2 computer labs on our campus.

How is technology currently being used by teachers and administrators to

promote effective classroom instruction and school management?
Since each teacher has a personal laptop to use in classrooms,
administrators could make important announcements via email. Many
classrooms have smart boards, so teachers can interact with students more
efficiently by inviting them to write on it.

Describe students' current access to instructional technology and current use of

digital tools. Include a description about the LEA policy, practices, and/or
replacement policy that ensures equitable technology access for all students.

Is technology currently available to all students?

At this point, almost every single classroom is equipped with a set of 20+
chrome-books for students learning purposes. There are 2 computer labs in
our school for students. Teacher would only need to make appointment with
the lab teacher in advanced.

Do all student groups have equal and appropriate access to the available
technology?
Yes, each student is provided with a school email address and a personal
password as the required log-in information for the access to accounts on
chrome-books.

Describe goals and an implementation plan, with annual activities, for using
technology to improve teaching and learning. Describe how these goals align to
the LEA's curricular goals that are supported by other plans. Describe how the
LEA's budget (LCAP) supports these goals, and whether future funding
proposals or partnerships may be needed for successful implementation.

How will technology be used to create more powerful learning experiences

to improve student academic achievement?
Technology will provide students a great access to more learning resources
than traditional classroom. For example, ALEKS is an online math learning
website. Students can self-assess the understanding of the content
materials by working on chrome-books.

What options exist to fund technology over time?

The funding of purchasing all of the chrome-books in the beginning. The
over-time cost would be the electricity to recharge chrome-books every day
and the funds to maintain each chrome-book periodically.

Describe goals and an implementation plan, with annual activities, to address

Internet Safety and the appropriate and ethical use of technology in the
classroom.

How are students using online communication technologies, including but

not limited to social networking and instant messaging?
Every single student has a school email account where they can not only
communicate with teachers, but also apply to colleges and scholarships.

How are teachers using online communication technologies, including but

not limited to social networking and instant messaging?
Teachers use database to communicate with parents regarding students
learning progress and use Eduphoria to update lesson plans.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT COMPONENT

The Plan must have a professional development strategy to ensure that staff
understands how to use these new technologies to improve education services
(Answer at least 2 questions for each subsection below)

Summary of the teachers' and administrators' current technology proficiency and

integration skills and needs for professional development.
Do teachers have the classroom management strategies to work with the amount
of technology actually available in the classrooms?
Yes, teachers will monitor students activities on the chrome-books. Teachers will
make sure that students are not on any non-educational websites all time. Any
violators will be given verbal warning and any future violation will be assigned
DPS points.
What do teachers and administrators consider as their needs for professional
development?
Teachers and administrators consider the basic instructions on chrome-books as
their needs for possible future professional developments. Since many teachers
and administrators do not possess a chrome-book and have no prior experience
on how to use chrome-books, they could not solve students problems when
encountering technical issues.

Describe goals and an implementation plan, with annual activities, for providing
professional development opportunities based on your LEA needs assessment
data and the Curriculum Component of the plan.
What professional development will be provided to ensure teachers and
administrators will be able to effectively accomplish the curricular goals for
students described in section 2?
How to create a document on Google Document for students to turn in their
written assignment.
How to get access to the websites for students to apply for colleges and
scholarships.
What professional learning will be available so teachers and administrators can
effectively use technology to assist with student assessment?
In Harmony Science Academy Houston High, student assessment is mostly
located in Database; such as the access to district assessments, MAP Test,
students progress.

INFRASTRUCTURE, HARDWARE, TECHNICAL SUPPORT, SOFTWARE, AND

ASSET MANAGEMENT COMPONENT CRITERIA
The Plan must include an assessment of the telecommunication services,
hardware, software, asset management, and other services that will be needed to
improve education services.
(Answer at least 2 questions for each subsection below)

Describe the existing hardware, Internet access, electronic learning resources,

technical support, and asset management already in the LEA that will be used to
support the Curriculum and Professional Development Components of the plan.
What technologies are available to facilitate home/school communication such as
email, web pages, and voice mail?
On our campus, home/school communication technologies are frequently been
used; such as email, database, progress report, Wednesday Mail and school
reach. Many teachers use Edmodo or even create a class website as resource
communication with parents/students.
Do all staff members have e-mail accounts? Do students have access to e-mail?

As of now, every single staff member on our campus has been registered to a
Harmony School email account at the first day of employment where they use to
communicate important information with administrators, other staff members,
parents, and students.
Students are also registered to a Harmony School email accounts in the
beginning of the enrollment. Students are able to log into their email accounts at
any locations with the log-in information.
Describe the technology hardware, electronic learning resources, networking and
telecommunications infrastructure, physical plant modifications, technical
support, and asset management needed by the LEA's teachers, students, and
administrators to support the activities in the Curriculum and Professional
Development components of the plan.
What technology is needed to implement the Curriculum and Professional
Development components for students and staff?
Each classroom is equipped with an overhead projector where teachers can connect
to their school laptop and projectile the screen to the board. Many classrooms are
also equipped with the Smart White Board where teachers may write on it which is a
great way to interact with the students.

What network improvements (bandwidth, reliability, and hardware) are needed to

support the plan?
Our school internet connection is usually reliable and efficient. However, sometimes
it disconnects due to various reasons such as technical issues or severe weathers.
MONITORING AND EVALUATION COMPONENT
The plan must include an evaluation process that enables the school to monitor
progress toward the specific goals and make mid-course corrections in response
to new developments and opportunities as they arise.
(Answer at least 2 questions for each subsection below)

Describe the process for evaluating the plan's overall progress and impact on
teaching and learning.
What indicators of success will be used to evaluate whether implementation of
the plan has made a positive impact on student achievement?
One of the most obvious indicators of success is students scores on state tests; such as

district assessment, STARR tests, and MAP tests. If the overall grades have a steady
improvement in each year, then the message of the plan has made a positive impact on
students learning is clearly shown.

Describe how stakeholders participated in determining the criteria used to

measure success.
School principals and assistant principal will determine the expected scores on students
performance for state tests. The discussion between department head and academic
coordinators are necessary.

Describe the schedule for evaluating the effect of plan implementation, including
a description of the process and frequency of communicating evaluation results
to tech plan stakeholders.
How often will data be collected and summarized? Who is responsible?
Every grading period (nine-week) or every state test, our campus testing
coordinators and each department coach will collect and then summarize the
results of the collected data. Any future discussion will be hold during each
department meeting and the intervention plan will be submitted to the principal
for the final approval.
How will strategies that have had a positive effect on teaching and learning be
communicated to others so that they can be replicated?
Teachers may share the effective methods at each professional development;
such as cluster training. By doing so, teachers from other campuses can not only
be replicated the strategies, but also reproduce the positive effect on teaching
and learning.
