Leadership Reflection
This semester I was a part of the Morning Intervention Committee. It was my duty to
help run morning intervention/pirate pals and deal with data from assessments completed during
morning intervention/pirate pals. I also helped to make sure that the classrooms were setup and
cleaned up before and after Morning Intervention. My duties as a part of the Morning
Intervention Committee relates to the Leadership Standard because I worked closely with the
other MI Committee members to help analyze, collect, and inform Morning Intervention triads of
results of the assessments. Being a member on this committee allowed me to see the process of
collecting and interpreting data.
The MI Committee was responsible for Pirate Pals/Morning Intervention and coinciding
assessments and data collection. We all made sure that Morning Intervention was going
smoothly. In the beginning, the committee worked out the details of Morning Interventions, like
the procedure: when to arrive, when to pick up the students, and when to take them back. The
members of the committee were in MI on different days, so there was always someone from the
MI Committee to assist the triads during MI. We would make sure that they knew what they
needed to be doing with their students. We distributed any necessary materials, i.e. binders,
assessments. The committee made sure that the classrooms were setup each day and cleaned up
at the end of Morning Intervention. We had meetings with our professors concerning Morning
Intervention and data. The Morning Intervention Committee divided responsibilities when
necessary. We also created a bulletin board to display the data collected from the assessments
that the triads conducted during Morning Intervention (Pictured Below). Our Committee was

great about getting together and discussing Morning Interventionthe assessments, data,
procedures, suggestions, etc. I think we all worked well together.
