Spirit, Heart and Soul

Launched in October 2008, Iggies House Inc. A Nia Renee Foundation is a nonprofit organization created in remembrance of Nia Renee Robertson who was
murdered in 2007 in a senseless act of violence. Iggies House Inc. assists students
in Greater New Orleans, not only financially through scholarships but also providing
guidance by connecting students with mentors in their respective fields.

The foundation will be hosting an event to connect students with
potential mentors and gain insight about their career aspirations. Tickets

Iggie's House Inc. partners with Xavier University

Public Relations students had the opportunity to pitch themselves and their services
to four non-profit organizations. Students are enrolled in a course that requires them
to utilize intensive writing skills in efforts to develop critical-thinking and professional
skills. The students will fulfill these requirements by teaming up with non-profit
organizations that dont have a formal communications team.
Iggies House Inc. has been matched with Toni Harrigan, a junior from Miami. She
will be in charge of strategic planning and assisting Iggies House Inc in reshaping
and expanding their outreach in the community. As part of her required skill set she
will be creating a social media plan, advertising an event, creting website content and
visual presentations.
While building an exstensive portfolio, students also hope to help these non-profit
organizations and create a long-term impact.

Our very first scholarship recipient Devreeon Allen stopped by to share the

*The Scholarship Committee will evaluate the applicants based on the following
criteria: academic achievement, community service, a personal statement, and two
letters of recommendation.
