Today you are going to be a statistical analysist. You

are going to interview your classmates about an
important question that you develop to determine an
answer to a problem your boss has.
Demonstration: I am going to be interviewing my
fellow teachers what university they went to.

Hand out bar graphs. On the top of you page you are
going to silently write down your analysis question.
Was everyone able to come up with a question that has
at least 2 different answers?
Interview your classmates to fill in your bar graph.
When finished show Miss Old your graph and interpret
the data.
Were students able to behave in a professional
manner? What was the most popular? The least
popular? If finished early, write a math problem (or

Were students able to apply knowledge of bar graphs
to make their own question? Were students able to
interpret the data they collected?
Wrap up. We need to interpret information all of the
time, think about how you interpreted information
today when you need help deciding what game to play
at recess or who does the chores at your house!
Reflections

What went well? What changes

would you make in your
planning? What have you
learned to improve upon future
instruction?
