This article focuses on the credibility of other researches pertaining to the study of violent
video games and violent crime. The task force presented themselves questions in order to
evaluate the research done by other authors. Some include whether if it is applicable to
conduct the research to children, does the degree of violence matter, and is there a
difference in the outcome between male and female? The task force has concluded that
violent video games has an effect on aggression but the sources do not have consistent
evidence that video games cause violent behavior. This report came from the American
Psychology Association website thus, making this source credible. I used the article in
terms of giving me ideas on how to judge other sources I find throughout my research
and to judge its credibility.

Bingham, John. "Study Finds No Evidence Violent Video Games Make Children
Aggressive." The Telegraph. Telegraph Media Group, 01 Apr. 2015. Web. 08 Oct. 2015.
This article tackles on the claim that violent games causes children to become violent. In
the article, an Oxford study found that children with play video games together have less
problems than children who play alone. This article came from the Time website and it is
very reliable in its source. I used the article to expand my take on my view in my topic.

This article focuses on the aspects of whether or not violent video games actually cause
prolong violent behaviors. They test this hypothesis by using students from Delaware for
their experiment. In their findings, they conclude that the hypothesis of added violent
behavior is not present within the students. They find however that there was an increase
in aggression but it is statistically insignificant. The authors are from well know
universities such as the Western Michigan University and the University of Delaware so I
find their claims credible. I will use their findings in terms of raw statistical data to
further my research and to help my claim.

Real-World Violence: Rhetoric Versus Data. Psychology of Popular Media Culture.

This academic article addresses the question of whether violent video games actually
cause violent behaviors. The media has always linked violent crime to video games thus,
causing a stigma that video games promote violence. The authors cannot create actual
violence while testing the question, so they have to rely on the method of using statistics
relating to video game sales and violent crime. They found that violent crimes reported
actually decreased while the sales of video games reported increased. However, their

findings are solely based on statistics and did not experiment the hypothesis so that can
cause a potential problem in validating the conclusion. The article was released by the
American Psychological Association, making it credible for me to use for my research.
The article has provided me with statistics in terms of violent crime reported and the
amount of violent video games sold and I will utilize those statistics in an appropriate
manner.
