HOW TO SOURCE PICTURES AND INFORMATION

For pictures: Write where you got the picture from underneath the
picture. Use a URL from the real website.

Example:

A picture of a peninsula taken from Google Earth on Dec 4 th, 2015

1) To get a picture from Google, type what you want to find in the
Google Search Bar, and click on Images. When you see a picture that
you want, click on the image. When the image becomes bigger in a
black box/window on Google, you can right-click the picture and
select Copy. Then you can right-click on your slide in your
presentation and select Paste.
BUT in order to source the picture, you need to go to the website that
the picture came from. To do that, go to Google Images back to the
black box/window that appears when you click on an image. You will
then click on the image again, and a new tab should open up. This tab
takes you to the website where the image is from. Then, you copy the
URL from the website, and paste it below your picture. Write what the
picture is below the picture too.
Example:

The Rocky Mountains in B.C

http://www.blueplanetbiomes.org/rocky_mountain.htm

2) To source information from a website, copy and paste the information

into your document and put quotation marks () around the
information that you copied. Then, copy and paste the name of the
website below and the URL below the information.
Example:

The Appalachian climate is affected by two ocean

currents. The Labrador currents bring cold water south
from the Arctic and causes freezing during the winter
months in northern parts of the region.

3) To source a book, type the Name of the book in between quotation
marks, the author, and what year the book was written.
Example:
Yukon Canadas Land and People by Janice Parker, 2008.
4) At the end of your presentation, include a slide with all of your
sources. The title of the slide is called Sources. There should be at
least 1 book and 2 websites listed on your sources slide.
Example:
