The student will estimate and find the sum, difference, and product of
whole numbers.
Teachers Notes:
For the first 2 problems, teacher will ask students to use Base 10
blocks to represent numbers and show what trades need to be
made. The students may then solve the problem on their dry erase
board.
For the next 2 problems, the teacher will have the students puts
lines between each digit to differentiate the place values. Students
will then solve and a volunteer will explain how they solved the
problem. (By adding 10 to the ones, subtracting 1 from the tens,
etc.)
For the rest of the problems during small group, students will show
answer on dry erase board using the best method for them. (Base
10 blocks, dry erase only, dividing place values using lines.)
