Dear Judges:
My name is Kaylee Godfrey and I am currently a senior at Saint James High School. High school has
been the most significant period of learning in my life. These past four years have shown me how to love
others, what grieving feels like and how important it is to learn from mistakes. As graduation is
approaching, I am becoming more and more anxious for what lies ahead of me. I hope I can continue to
grow and improve myself as time progresses.
Music has always been an extremely large component of my arsenal of coping strategies. I wanted to
know the extent of the benefits of music and that is why I chose to research music therapy. I learned how
music therapy helps can help increase the quality of life for those suffering with illness, disease, brain
damage and other brain dysfunction.
For me, the Senior Exploration process was a lengthy but beneficial process. During this project I have
learned how to effectively write papers along with real world skills such as making business calls and
speaking to professionals. I believe Senior Exploration has helped me acquire skills that will help me later
on in life.
I would like to thank you, the judges, for your time and allowing me to share my experiences and findings
