Weekly Writing 1 Assignment: Background about the Holocaust

The Webster dictionary defines Holocaust as the killing of millions of Jews and
other people by the Nazis during World War II. Adolf Hitler was hunting the Jews all
around the world because he saw them as nonhuman filthy creatures. He also compared
them to the mice because they are everywhere and they travel a lot as if they dont have a
home. The Holocaust was a prison for the Jews. The Nazis (The German soldiers) is
keeping the Jews in a camp as prisoners working in a freezing weather without much
clothes to keep themselves warm. Moreover they dont offer much food for the prisoners
and the prisoners have to save food for the future in order to survive the camp. The Jew
prisoners are doing the Nazis or the German soldiers work every day. Then Holocaust is
a very horrifying incident not only because the freezing weather and keeping the Jews as
prisoners but also the massacres happened in it. The German officials or the Nazis did a
lot of massacre they gathered the Jews in the forest and they kill them in the middle of the
forest. Until my high school I didnt know about the Holocaust. I just knew that there
were two World wars and didnt know much about them. When I came to the US to get
my bachelors degree in Electrical Engineer. I went to George Mason University. I
studied in the English language institution for a year then I entered the University. I took
an English class and I was supposed to read about a book named Maus. It is a non-

fiction novel about a man, a Jew, who is surviving a severe war (World War 2) doing his
best fighting for survival. I dont remember much from the book but I recall reading
about the Holocaust. The Holocaust is the massacre of the Jews. The Nazis kill the Jews
and other people and destroy things by fire and that is why they call it the Holocaust. I
didnt have much education about the Holocaust and the WW2 back in my country but I
did learn about it in the US. I even wrote a paper about the Holocaust and how the author
of Maus survived the holocaust. The Nazis captured him when he shot a Nazi. I
remember that the writer of Maus was traumatized by the Holocaust.

In conclusion I was really inspired by the Holocaust. I didnt know much about it
but it is a really interesting and depressing incident. Some people dont believe the
Holocaust because they think its exaggerating and its not really what happened.
Inglorious bastards is a movie about WW2 and the Nazis but I dont remember if they
talked about the Holocaust or not. I do remember that the movie was during WW2 and
they are a Jewish group of US soldiers and they are targeting the Nazis and Nazi leaders.
Fury is another movie talking about WW2 and the Nazis but I think that they didnt
talk about the Holocaust. I know movies talking about WW2 but I dont think that I saw a
movie talking about the Holocaust. I also dont like watching movies based on real war
events because it is so depressing.
