Reflection for Journal Entry I
This Journal Entry relates the first year out come statement by considering
the context and how it is used to best get across to the audience, which is exactly
one of the goals of the first year out come statements. That statement being,
rhetorical knowledge, which just so happens to be the first bullet in the first year out
come statement. This entry covers the basis of rhetorical knowledge by analyzing
contexts and audiences and then to acting on that analysis in comprehending and
creating texts (First Year Outcome Statement from Sylabus).
The second connection is for rhetorical knowledge as well. The entry relates
connecting to any audience by genre. The third connection is critical thinking,
reading, and composing. The entry relates to this by talking about organization in
the composition of the piece. In order to really perfect your writings composition
the author has to put in a vast amount of critical thinking to understand what might
best reach their audience.
