Craft Design: Kinetic Radial Design Sculptures

How to start each Radial Design:

1. Select a Square piece of paper (4,6 or 8)
2. Using a Ruler, draw the following lines as shown below:

3. Each Square piece of paper must start with AT LEAST 4x Circles (Use a Compass)
a. Vary the Size & Spacing between each Circle

Using a Ruler, Protractor & Misc. Stencils, Begin to create your Radial Design in PENCIL
Once done, Choose what you wish to include or omit on your design and then OUTLINE in SHARPIE
Then ADD Colored Pencil keeping in mind Radial Symmetry (Use Shading Techniques)
Once completely Colored, THEN cut out your design using X-Acto Knife & Cutting Board
a. Examples Include:

8. Each Cut Out Design will be mounted onto Mat Board to provide stability
9. In TOTAL, before constructing the Final Kinetic Sculpture, you must have each of the following COLORED,
CUTOUT & MOUNTED onto Mat Board:
a. 2x (4 x 4) Radial Designs
b. 2x (6 x 6) Radial Designs
**A TOTAL of 6x Designs**
c. 2x (8 x 8) Radial Designs
What you will be GRADED on:

Includes 6x Radial Designs

Colored using Colored Pencil (Does it follow a Radial Pattern?)
Cutout & Mounted onto Mat Board (Craftsmanship)
Completion (Final Assemblage onto Board with String Pulley)
Work Progress (Staying On Task)
