1. Circumlocution: Noun- a roundabout or indirect way of speaking
To make his story more interesting, he used circumlocution while telling

for your opinion.

The teacher confiscated his device as he wasnt putting it away as
instructed.
11. Connoisseur: Noun- a person who is especially competent to pass critical
judgements of an art
He is a connoisseur of dinosaurs and video games.
12. Console: Verb- to alleviate or lessen the grief, sorrow, of disappointment of
She wept bitterly in the corner, desperately needing to be consoled.
13. Copious: Adjective- large in quantity or number
There was a copious amount of rats in the house before we got Lucifer.
14. Counterfeit: Adjective- made in imitation so as to be passed off deceptively as
genuine
The man made lots of counterfeit money that looked so real, even the
police missed it.
15. Covet: Verb- to desire wrongfully, inordinately, or without due regard for the
rights of others
If you covet your neighbors goods or wife, you have broken a
commandment.
16. Credulous: Adjective- willing to believe or trust too readily, gullible
The credulous substitute teacher let the students do all they said their
teacher let them do.
17. Crucial: Adjective- involving an extremely important decision or result

Having a calm attitude and a gentle voice is crucial when trying to help a
wild animal.
18. Crusade: Noun- any war carried on under papal sanction
The crusade took many years to finally end.
19. Culminate: Verb- to reach the highest point, summit, of highest development
The project will be culminating until about mid-July.
20. Debut: Noun- a first public appearance on a stage, on television, etc.
The debut of that new movie was a couple weeks ago, right?
